The Mental Health Foundation has announced 2017’s Mental Health Awareness Week taking place from the 8th-14th May. To mark this vital ‘Surviving or Thriving’ themed week, Josh Quigley, The Tartan Explorer who has been cycling the world raising awareness of suicide prevention and mental health will undertake his most rigorous and challenging cycle to date, Lands End to John O’Groats in JUST 7 DAYS!
Bid Specialists, AM Bid Services have been active and loyal supporters of The Tartan Explorer since the beginning. So much so, they recently sent their very own, Cameron Houston, Bid Development Executive, to cycle alongside Josh for his last week (Nice to Pisa) of his Cycling to Happiness Expedition in its current form.
Answering the Tartan Explorer’s “You believed in me once, I need you to believe in me again” call, AM Bid Services is exclusively sponsoring this exciting new cycle. This cycle marks Josh’s new chapter, The Tartan Explorer Foundation which will focus on The Journey to Happiness. The Journey to Happiness will be a tailored, online course with supporting blogs, articles and videos as well as a free online support group for people in need. Josh is sharing daily video blogs on Facebook called “One Boy’s Journey” which alongside other social media activity is garnering thousands of views and rave responses.
Speaking of undertaking this rigorous cycling challenge, Josh said: “This challenge is the biggest I’ve taken on yet as I’m increasing my daily miles from 50 to 120. But I’ve never been more prepared and excited for an upcoming challenge. I’m incredibly grateful to AM Bid Services for their continued support of my Tartan Explorer cycling challenges. The personal support from Andrew and all the team means a lot to me.”
Describing why AM Bid Services is sponsoring the Lands End to John O’Groats Cycling Challenge, Andrew Morrison, Managing Director said: “AM Bid Services is a strong supporter of Josh Quigley and his work as the Tartan Explorer. As part of the assistance we are providing Josh for this current Cycling Challenge, Cameron Houston one of our Bid Development Executives, will be accompanying Josh driving the “support vehicle”. In taking on this challenge in Mental Health Awareness Week and in the same month as his suicide attempt 2 years ago, Josh is providing a sterling example of how someone can come back from the brink to inspire others to tackle their mental health.”
